Palimpsest of my Past   2013

I am interested in the preservation of my childhood; creating pieces that act as catalysts for remembering and commemorating. This work is an abstracted record, acting as markers, mapping out the most evocative memories of my childhood.

I am preserving these moments as honestly as possible while abstracting and altering them visually so they have the potential to be accessible to others. Starting from a condensed, specific memory, I push outwards expanding the moment to encompass a broader range of recollections and emotions. These diverse ideas are whimsically demonstrated through a variety of materials, techniques and formats. Each piece builds upon the last, adding to the collective but retaining its own identity; contributing to the progression of my life.
